I have just had an update to the Amazon App Store on my Passport. I discovered that it demands access to all my files on the BB and also to any Cloud storage that I have set up on the BB. In application permissions this cannot be turned off so it has access to stuff in my Dropbox that I do not want it to have access to. Has anyone found a way to stop it doing this or is the only way to uninstall the App Store?

There is no need to be paranoid. If Amazon was conspiring to steal your files, BlackBerry would not allow it, and a data breach would be headline news.

Since the Amazon App Store is not a native app rather than a pre-installed Android app, there is no way to actually change or manage the permission of this app - just like any other Android app. So you either agree to it or try to uninstall it, there was a recent topic somewhere regarding a way to uninstall the App Store.

I could understand this if it just wanted access to my media card or the BB itself. But Cloud storage?????? As for BB even being aware of data breaches I somehow doubt this!

EDIT: in the linked post they say that the instructions to remove do not work.

The only thing you can do is delete the data for this app in the phones settings section (via "App maintenance").
As far as I understood the app will then not run even in the background.
