I have ! 9300 BB from Tmobile USA
    I dont want data plan
I want to use wifi at home in order to
    1/ use facebook
2/ use yahoo messenger and yahoo mail push
    3/ use gmail push
    4/ use free internet access

    I have tried:
1/ disable APN settings from ad. setting
    2/ register routing table
3/ disabled MDS push, WAP push
    --> result was unsuccessful.

my BB 9300 has Os 5 with the following option:

The only two browser that I have in the phone is
1/Def. browser config. give me 2 options: a1/ hotspot browswer, a2/web2go
2/Def. WAP browswer conf. give me 1 single option: web2go

This BB is totally diff. from the curve 8325 that I had 2 years ago. I was able to bypass data plan and use wife with facebook enabled as well as pushed email. I've looking all over the forum for the solution, but couldn't find relevant answers. I'm getting so frustrated.

If the option is just plain and simple that I CANNOT USE WIFI for those PURPOSE, and I MUST subscribe TO DATA PLAN. Then i'm offering to sale my 2-days-old-BB !!!

    Thank you.

1/ use facebook - You might be able to access the mobile Facebook site with a third party browser, but you will NOT be able to use the Facebook application.

2/ use yahoo messenger and yahoo mail push - Nope. Nope. You MIGHT be able to access the Yahoo Mail mobile site via a third party browser, but you won't get push.

3/ use gmail push - Nope. Push requires a BlackBerry Data Plan. ALL the Google BlackBerry apps require a BlackBerry Data Plan.

4/ use free internet access - You might be able to get it with a third party browser, but you will not be able to use the BlackBerry Browser.

NOTE that many carriers (including TMobile, I think) require a data plan in order to get the WiFi Service Books. Things change.

Unlocking a BlackBerry device has nothing to do with getting data services to work properly. Nothing at all.

    There's another one too, Uzard:
BlackBerry App World - uZard Web Mobile Web Browser

    Here's their own website:
uZard Web (mobile browser) - full internet access wherever and whenever you want

Like Moto-Mama said, unlocking is unrelated.
Unlocking is not like jailbreaking an iPhone. You unlock a BB to use it on a different carrier's network, with a compatible radio frequency of course.

BB's differ from many smartphone platforms because virtually all data services are routed through RIM's own servers, regardless of using wireless network or WiFi.
