help please
Last night my brother accidently spilt milk on my blackberry pearl. We took out the battery and let it sit overnight. This morning at first the keys didn't work (but the ball did), then later the ball had trouble scrolling but the keys work, now the ball seems to scroll (atleast better than it did) but it won't select anything. Any suggestions?

Put it in a Ziploc container of rice. Let it sit for 24 hours. Fire it up and see what happens...

Milk has quite a bit of sugar in it and so it might get sticky causing the trackball and/or keys to not work all that well.
You might consider a bit of disassembly if it continues to have problems. The keyboard is not that hard to remove. I have not removed the trackball assembly but with CARE apparently it pops out.

The rice trick probably will not work because of the sugar and other additives in milk. Rice works great for water.

Look in the battery compartment, if the little moisture sticker is red, then you might as well head to the store, get a gallon of distilled water, some rice and some freezer bags. Soak it in the water, that'll clean out the milk, then put it in a bag full of rice on a sunny windowsill. (without the battery in of course).
If the moisture indicator is still white, get some isopropyl alcohol and qtips and a can of compressed air, clean your ball and the keyboard with alcohol, then blow everthing out with the air.
