Hi first as a newbie i never touhght that i was going to be a blackberry addict i never knew what it is .. but now i do
i have a BB 8900 and i need help on how to instal a download l theme
but my principal question is about the os thing (operationg system i think)
how to verify is my theme is compatible with my OS

Go to Options (looks like a wrench) > About.

Your OS version is the 3rd line down I think. It should be 4.6.XXX

Look for themes for the 8900 they should all be compatible because all 8900s are on OS 4.6 for now.

at the home screen, press alt + shift(aA) + H

you will see the app version that you have

but since you use 8900, it is using 4.6 OS. it should be compatible to most of the themes/programs that you've downloaded

Keep in mind all themes for the 8900 are beta right now.

your device is os 4.6

the most common way to download a theme is to install over-the-air (OTA). simply navigate to the OTA theme using your device browser, click on the OTA link and it will prompt you on installation

the other way is to download the theme onto your pc. provided of coz that the theme maker provides a download-able version of this. it is usually a zip file. extract the .alx and .cod files and save on your pc. then plug in your device to the pc, open DM and use DM's app loader to load the theme
