Hi to everyone. I'm going to change my actual phone (Motorola Defy) and my options are: Blackberry Bold 9780 or Nokia N9. This may sound a little bit odd, as N9's hardware-specs are much better. My question is, will it last? Is it a phone which makes up for the future? I have never had a BB before, but this one particularly atractts me. So, please, I would like anyone to help me in this.
    Thanks to all!

The 9780 was an excellently built device

really you have not told us here what you plan to do with the device.

I personally would take the 9780 over the N9, but that is because I prefer Keyboard over touchscreen as a primary condition of purchase.

Well, i want a phone which battery doesn't leave me at half-day. Good music, a decent camera is essential. I text a lot, Bold QWERTY keyboard looks and feels comfortable. Is it a fluid phone? I had an awful experience with Defy until I flashed it.

Looks like the 9780 is just the right device for you. Battery life is awesome, decent music player, camera is quite good with autofocus.
Keyboard is good enough and the phone really fits in your hands comfortable. I had a great expercience on my 9780 though.

Byul you are always there! haha lol. Think it really is.. I have been waiting for WhatsApp to be released for N9, and tomorrow there will be an unofficiall version. Even though N9 is an excellent perfomer, support is not that much and depends on developers.. When I get my BB (if I get it) I will let you know. Thanks a lot!

I suggest going to the 9780 forums here and looking around to see all the ways to make your 9780 as fast as it can be,

learn about OS shrinking, and hybrids, since if you want a web browser of quality I'm sure you'll be using a hybrid OS

Hmm, didn't know about modding in OS6. Thanks for the information. Web browser is also a concern.

Well, I would love a 9900, but unfortunately, it is not being sold in my country because of importing problems. Just 8520, 9300, a few 9360 and luckily I found 9780 which was brought from the US

Really? I know that 9780 has a better camera than 9360. I don't like that much 9360, feels like a cheap phone. And besides, keyboard, which is something mainly for me, is better on the 9780. I prefer it

I did and would go for a 9900 plus the 9900 keyboard is even better than the smaller 9780's.

Yes, but unfortunately it's not being sold in my country. I would have to wait (and God only knows how long) to Rim to start making the 9900. I'm from Argentina by the way

    Yes Really
I'll agree the 9360 certainly feels more cheaply built than the 9780

    BUT

    They have identical screens
the 9870 is 122g vs the lighter 99g of the 9360
    9870 has 256MB of RAM
    9360 has 512MB of RAM

    9870 has a 624Mhz Processor
    9360 has a 800Mhz Processor

When it comes to battery life both devices are reasonably similar in real world usage
OS 7.1 improved Battery life of the 9360 to be comprable to the 9780 except the 9360 has a 1/3rd smaller battery meaning MUCH faster charging speed to full power.

Plus OS7 is just better than OS6

the 9360 has the same Camera as the 9900 meaning it wont have Autofocus like the 9780, but I actually preferred having the EDoF camera in my 9900 over the Autofocus camera in my 9790 due to the speed I can take pictures with the EDoF camera,

Oh I see, the 9780 is a great phone. A family member has one and they haven't complained.

Just that for me typing on any other bb seems odd as the other keyboards are smaller and I'm not use to them.

I guess the 9780's keyboard is the closest to the 9900's however.

Wait, doesn't 9780 has 512 of RAM? I saw in GSMarena that the 9360 had lighter colours than 9780 (camera). Also, i saw that music testing was terrible in 9360. The 800Mhz proccesor and OS7 are very tempting. I have never used OS7, is there a big difference with OS6? I don't know if i would get a 9360 in muy country, but I will try if it really is much better

It's a dream NOT to come true LOL. It's a bit of a pity that 9900 is not being (and not sure if) sold here.. What i have read that 9780 is a wonderful device

OS 7 is more than just a single digit improvement over OS6 it is an order of magnitude improvement, I tried to go back to an OS6 device for a short break between phones and it was very difficult.

I have not heard this music quality complaint from the 9360, except for maybe the speakerphone quality as it doesn't have a great speakerphone compared to ANY bold Model.

GSM Arena was wrong if they said one had more colours than the other, both devices are the same in that respect to screen

Well, sorry that i made yoy misunderstood me, i was talking about camera colurs. They said that 9360 has a poor camera quality while Bold had a better one (better than Defy). And it is known that the Bold series are better than the Curves one. I care most how it sound with a pair of earphones plugged in..
Although, they said that Bold users (9700-9780) should consider Curve as an option.
My question is, if I buy 9780, will I have a decent user experience? (considering my needs: comfortable keyboard, good battery life, good camera and music)

Really I don't think you'll be unhappy with the 9780,

The Camera quality only really has a difference when dealing with close up shots, the AF camera does a better job taking face pictures and close up pictures the EDoF camera does a better job taking action shots, and is comparable with the AF camera. For longer range pictures of 4m ( 13ft) the difference is barely noticeable if at all, unless using the pictures for High Rez desktop wall papers or printing for posters

I usually print my pictures (I'm not always doing it, just ocassionally) Well, you gave me something to consider. Another user (@byul) said that I should consider 9360 also in another post.
Thank you a lot, both. I belieave, tough, Bold will be my next conquer. Thanks, once again.
