I was wondering if anyone knows how to add and delete icons/shortcuts from the main blackberry screen? There are a lot of extra icons on mine that I don't use, and others that I want a shortcut to. For example, I do not use MySpace and there is an icon on the main screen, but I use Facebook and cannot figure out how to add a shortcut for it. Also, is there a way to switch the icons on the first screen you see? Thanks for any help, it's really been driving me nuts!!
well you can hide icons by scrolling to hilight the icon and click the bb button then push hide because that might be a service icon so even if you delete it it might come back. adding icons, I'm not sure maybe someone can help but if you downloaded the facebook app it should have given you an icon for it.
You can move icons by selecting an icon, pressing Menu, then selecting move. Move it to where you want it and click the trackball to place it in the new location. You can also press select an icon and press Menu / Hide to hide an icon.
The icons on the first screen are the first 5 or more (depending on the theme) that you have on the second screen. Just move icons into the first row to make them show on the first screen.
I don't have any experience creating shortcuts, but I think I've seen a thread about it. You might try the search function for that.
Thanks for the reply... the weird thing about the Facebook thing is that when I go into the folder that has my text messages, emails, etc and I hit the bb button, THERE I'm given the Facebook option, but there is no icon for it. I just thought that was really weird and that there might be an easier way to get to it.
well you could always separate your messages so you have one for SMS, each email has their own and then facebook should have its own theoretically. Like I said I don't use facebook so i'm not sure if this is plausible. you could always play around to find out.
