Mine is doing it too. Haven't found a fix yet. I find if I pause what I'm watching for a few minutes, the audio will work again for a few minutes afterwards. It's very annoying.

I run into the same issue as well.
My fix is exactly the same. Pause for a few seconds and play.

Hope an update fixes this issue. My son's phone does it as well.

Make sure when you plug you HDMI in, that HDMI Audio is On. It might have something to do with the quality of the Video you've downloaded. As not had any of these issues. I use a Gold plated Micro HDMI cable and have great sound and picture.

Yeah, I have seen many people complain of this, I have the issue also. I have changed cables played movies from the sd card as well as on device and it still happens. Someone mentioned its too many videos being downloaded at one time/ the way the video is downloaded that. But nothing has changed as I've been downloading movies to all my past BlackBerrys without this stutter garbled repeated audio.
It showed up on .537 for me and is till doing it on .2141

Glad to know its not only me. This is a very annoying issue. Like others said, pausing and unpausing it seems to do the trick for a little while.

It might just be the cheap hdmi cables. i know mine is. $6 at Walmart i believe mine was

I don't think it's the cable. I have an official BlackBerry dock that I use as well. It uses a high quality full sized hdmi cable. Same issues arise periodically.
My guess is a software issue. Pausing and restarting the video wouldn't fix a hardware issue.

Forgot to add that the issue only happens when using hdmi, it never happens when just watching a movie on the phone.

I have 4 different movies downloaded from BlackBerry World. They all play in HD and with great sound, using gold plated HDMI Micro cable

Make sure you have a good wifi connection and you have a Class 10 SD Card. As anything lower will give you issues

Funny. On 10.2.1.1925 I had this exact same issue. Tried using different HDMI cables but no luck.

That is until I updated to 10.2.1.2141; the update solved everything for me.

A clean restore MAY work, but not sure... Play around with the settings maybe? Or maybe some new apps is interfering with the connection?

Has nothing to do with gold coloured/ plated cable ends, it happens on those too.

Also try a movie not downloaded from BBWORLD for real testing purposes.

I'm guessing installing .2141 it's the way to go. I'm just curious if blackberry knows about this so it can be fixed on the next official update.

It might not be a bug in the OS. You may just need to remove the Sd Card and perform a security wipe and reload the OS via BlackBerry Link.

Wipe n reload doesn't sound like a bad idea either. Thanx.

Did a wipe and reload work for you, I'm curious because when it was happening on 10.2.1.537 and I wiped and updated to10.2.1.2141 the issue persisted.
