    The thing is, the business and government landscape that BlackBerry dominated is changing. You have businesses implementing BYOD policies and government agencies looking at alternative platforms that provide more functionality (mostly via apps) than BlackBerries. Relying on and being overconfident based on past successes is what got them in trouble in the first place.

    Also, if they do become a niche player, users here on CB can kiss any chance of getting all the apps they were clamouring for goodbye. Devs will not want to put time and resources to develop for a niche market.
