I'm a new BB user..... with verizon..... so I know I have "(un)limited" usage per month (5gb to be exact).... I'm wondering about using GPS on my 8130. I have a bluetooth gps that I will use, does anyone know the usage rate on a program like google mobile maps?
    any help would be great.
    thanks

You'll be fine. There's no way you'll ever get close to 5GB per month unless you're constantly tethering your BlackBerry to your computer and using that connection to download large files.

I have a bluetooth gps too, and the advantage is that you don't use your data plan. I prefer to use it with BB maps. It works perfectly.

How does using a gps puck (bluetooth) avoid using data? If you access maps, aren't you using data? Just curious.

It does use the data plan. Well the puck just locates you with its GPS.

The BlackBerry still has to pull data for maps and all in whatever application you are using.
