I am used to my Garmin GPS into which I have loaded a variety of POIs (either self created or downloaded) usually in CSV format.

Can the same be done with my Bold and GoogleMaps?

No, i do not think so as Google Maps would have its own POI on the Google server. Why not keep using Garmin then?
