    Hi All,
    1. I just bought blackberry 8900 and I downloaded google maps v3.0.2 via my wi-fi connection directly on the phone. I tried to run it but after couple of seconds it shows me a message "Network unavailable: This application requires a data connection. Please contact your carrier, or visit google.com/gmm/configure.html Google Maps on your computer for more info" I went to this site but there are no information which could help me. I will add that I have wi-fi connection enabled and I'm able to browse sites.

Please reply if you know how to solve it.

    2. As I don't have a data plan and I use prepaid is there a chance to use GPS?
Is there a way to unlock it?

    Thank you All for answer.
    Regards

There are a few programs that can use a gps but do not need data.

Black* mentioned in a just prior thread. Gpslogger.

If you are more ambitious and want to create maps for apps, there are Trekbuddy and MobileGmaps (not google) also discussed in threads in this sub forum.
