How much does having GPS set to "Location On" effect battery life? Anyone ever test this?

I leave mine set to location on and it has not affected battery life significantly for me. Just having it on does not seem to be a major issue.
When I start using the GPS mapping applications is when I start seeing a larger drain. This is to be expected.

Its very minimal unless you have a mapping application in play actually using the hardware.

I used Garmin mobile and it seems pretty good. Using it was like browsing the web as for battery drain.

Yes and it will while you're actively using it. there is probably a pretty decent LNA on the input which is going to be a bit power hungry....
PS: LNA = Low Noise Amplifier (also known as a quality preamp)
