How much data does the gps use? I'm on a Rogers 500MB data plan and am considering buying the Garmin mobile, but will reconsider if it uses too much data.
Garmin does normally on other platforms store the maps on the sd card but not the blackberry bold version, that streams them live and if for any reason your out of coverage the program cannot even validate let alone show the maps
hi. my GPS settings under "advanced options" are as follows:
GPS Data Source - Device GPS
GPS Services - Location On
Location Aiding - Disabled
I have never used Maps and my camera is set to not do the geotagging thing. am i using any data at all if my settings have GPS services set to Location On? or do i only use data if i start using the Maps apps?

Reason: typo
Just talked to a Rogers rep. who says that the data usage isn't much using the GPS. She gave me unlimited data for 3 months to try it out. I will update post if anyone else is interested.

The GPS radio uses no data. A GPS program will use data, unless you have the software and maps loaded onto your computer.
