On my 8310 when I go into GPS it says it's not connected to any satellites. GPS is not working at all. Do I need to have a smartphone data plan for this to work or...?

I am with Rogers wireless. Any help would be appreciated.

Did it used to work and then it stopped working, or has it never worked? Make sure GPS is turned on: go to Options-->Advanced-->GPS and make sure it's turned on. Also, it's probably obvious but you need a fairly clear line of site to the satellites, ie. if you're indoors or under any other sort of obstruction it won't work.

You don't need a data plan but GPS on all BB's is aGPS (assisted GPS) which requires access to the cell network to (I think) help find satellites, and (for most mapping programs) to download maps. So without a data plan it will still work but you will be charged for data usage.
