When purchasing a new Tour from Bell, I asked the guy for an unlock code so that I could put an international SIM in it. He gave me what I have learned now is the device's MSL (as in I can get to the CDMA configuration screen with it) - so what can I do with this?

How do I use this information to use a different SIM in the device, and is there anything else interesting I can do with it?

You don't. The MSL is not used in the SIM slot unlocking process.

You need to get an unlock code to unlock your phone.

Well, here's to knowledgeable Bell staff in that case.

Aside from SIM unlocking, can I do anything interesting now that I have the MSL?

You can get into the CDMA programming screen... but that's about it.... and other fun stuff if you had CDMA programming software. Not anything interesting for the average user though.
