I'm a novice BB user and I currently own the 9700. I've used the 8900 before but for a very short period.

I received an arabic sms message which I would like to translate using google. What's the easiest way to do this?

I was thinking of copy/pasting it into a text file and then copying it back to the desktp and finally translating it on desktop's web browser.

How do I make a txt file on the BB? and how to I access that file from the mass storage mode?

    Thank you

This is a good question though - how does one create a new .TXT file from scratch? Can it even be done?

Usually what I've done is take an existing .txt file, make a copy, rename the copy, and replace the contents. For .doc files, I open an existing one in Docs To Go, change the content, and then use "save as" which essentially creates a new .doc file. But that's as far as I've ever had to go with these things. Now that I'm thinking about it, it does seem like something I'd want to know how to do. I'm assuming there must be an app for that.

Are you aware of the MemoPad application on every BlackBerry?

Why don't you post a solution to how a txt file can be made rather?

Without a 3rd party application you can not create a txt file on your BlackBerry. I highly recommend BBnotepad for this, it's free and rich in features.

The other benefit of BBNotepad is that anything you create can be saved on your storage card and NOT in memory like Memopad that comes with your BB.

I deleted Memopad and immediately installed BBNotepad.
I would not be without it!
