Google mobile maps not installing
I've read plenty about how Verizon has disabled GPS functionality with
Google maps (is there a way to unlock it?) but I can't even get a
basic version of Google Mobile Maps to load on my new Verizon BB Curve
8330. I've tried downloading it OTA and I was prompted to save a CAB
file. I saved the file (tried saving to both the device and the
extra memory card) and was told that it saved sucessfully. I expected
to see a new icon that would launch mobile maps but no luck. The list
of applications also does not show google mobile maps. I've also read
where changing the theme can "reveal" program icons my carrier might
try and block. That didn't work either. 1) Is there a way to get it
working? 2) Does it matter if it's loaded to the device or the extra
memory card? 3) If I can't get it to work, how do I "browse" the
memory on a BB and delete the useless CAB file I downloaded?
