    i have verizon so of course my bb won't work overseas. But would google maps works overseas Or does that only use cell towers?

    Does google maps even work outside of the US?

    You need a data connection in order to load the maps. You would essentially end up with a blank screen with your dot on it. haha

    If you have a data plan Google Maps will work outside the north America.

    Yeah... but I do not think she plans on racking up ridiculous international data charges so she can use data

    You might as well get a standalone GPS unit and save a tooooon of money!
