The accuracy is horrible for me. I was often well outside of the 1700 meter circle. And, when I'm at home, it puts me all the way out on a parallel street, and keeps getting stuck in the same place. I'm guessing it has something to do with the three closest towers (perhaps 3 and 4 are fighting), but it's not very accurate at all. I still want my 8830 GPS, Verizon!

Some of the inaccuracies that I see seem to "stick" My Location to or near a nearby cell tower. For example, there's a main road not too far from my house (1/2 or full mile away), but My Location always "sticks" there. I'm pretty sure that there is a cell tower there, too.

That's pretty whacked out, though. Maybe they recently reloaded cell tower antennea hardware from Key West to where you are. At least you can be confident that if Jack Bauer were tracking you, CTU would have some difficulty pinpointing your location.

You can not refresh the GPS on a Sprint 8130 as the option is not there, or am I missing something?

Hmm, the quality really depends on your location. Right now I am traveling though a heavily-populated area. It works okay, but the radius is so huge that I really can't tell exactly on what road I am traveling. This is the case, even when the radius is 1700 meters. Additionally, the program consistantly placed me on the wrong road in a less populated area. It is one thing to show your location off to the side of a road, but to show a user on the absolutely incorrect road could cause confusion.

Someone needs to change the title on this thread. It's misleading as F to all the noobs out there. This doesn't interface with the VZW internal GPS. Make the change mods... the OP is dead wrong.

I just did what you suggested but do not have a refresh gps on my menu. I use the 8830.

I have been reading this and other threads about google maps...I am using it on my 8830, and it is ok. More of a toy than anything else.

My problem is since I installed it my battery is not lasting as long, I have not found a post on here about that. Is there a reason why Google Maps would be draining my battery, and if so can I do something about it.

I am using Ver. 2.0.1(#2026) Platform: BlackBerry -42.
Every time I hit "My Location" I get "Your current location is temporarily unavailable". It has never worked either indoors or outside.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Yea, I updated 2.0.0 to .1 and got no change. Its pretty worthless regardless of where you are. I will say that the directions are better than some mobile sites though. I got directions for my cabin 6 hours away and its pretty close to how I really go. I used the blackberry maps directions and it had me going all over creation. I just wish it would give me real GPS locations(like the 3 feet real GPS gives) I mean I have an 8130 pearl, and it allegedly has the GPS. I don't know. Ill keep checking back
