Syncs wirelessly... beats paying for Outlook if yo don't have it.
I didn't know we had to 'pay' for Outlook. I thought at least on my desktop I could just switch from Outlook Express to Outlook when I wanted.
Why is the google sync better than BB calendar. I'm looking for the 'advantages' of doing mobile google calendar.
Wow I didn't even know that google calender would sync with the BB. Shows you how far outta the loop I am

I think the advantage is that you could access the google calendar via your PC and not be limited to a cable sync to get your blackberry items synced with your laptop or desktop. Those of us on BIS don't have the option to wirelessly sync a calendar, google has opened that option up through their mobile suite!
My question is this: can there be a three way sync? Since my blackberry and google calendars will sync wirelessly, that's simple! What if I throw Outlook in the mix? Can I set Outlook to Sync as well with my google calendar or is my only option to cable sync my Outlook with by blackberry? I prefer using outlook vs. The web based google and if I can three way wirelessly sync then I could enter events into Outlook instead...

I've tried this, and ended up with a lot of duplicate entries. I have mine setup to do a one-way sync between my BlackBerry and Outlook, where any changes to the BlackBerry is copied to Outlook. Seems to work ok. Only issue is, as what happened with my contacts yesterday, I lost all the contacts on my BlackBerry while doing a restore, I did a sync with Outlook, and It wiped out all the contacts in Outlook. Thank God for backups.
I have mine hooked up the same way. I hardly ever use Outlook anymore... I did with my WinMo device but now it serves as just an extra backup of my contacts.
I have actually been using Yahoo calendar which works very well. It allows me to keep my calendar/contacts/memos/ tasks all in one place and sync at one time with my BB. It also is always on line so I don't really need a back up copy, and it's always accessible if for some reason I don't have my BB (not likely).
I've had no problems having Outlook sync with Google Calendar and BB Calendar. I have it setup to go both ways. If my wife adds an appointment (pronounced honey dooo) to Google Calendar from home, I end up seeing it on outlook at the office and on BB Calendar. If my boss sets up a meeting at work it goes to both my Google & BB calendars. I haven't noticed any duplicates. I think it works great.
I use Google Calendar and wirelessly sync to my BB and Outlook per se. I don't sync any calendar stuff with the USB cable. Outlook syncs to Google and so does the bb.
Are you guys using the google sync app for BB? I tried that but it would not sync with my google apps calender (maybe coz it was Google apps and not the main google calender?).
Also, how do you sync with the Yahoo calender? app or website?
You sync with Yahoo calendar directly through the website., no special app needed I sync through BB desktop, but I am pretty sure you do it wirelessly as well.
You need a different app for the Google Apps based stuff. Here's the BB stuff they have available.
grumble... I can't post URLs apparently. Google for "google apps mobile" and you'll get a link. It's the first on the list for me.
I use the mail app and the calendar sync. Both work very well.
I set up google calendar this AM having seen this thread.
I have an 8830 which is on my office BES and syncs Outlook wirelessly.
I have an 8820 which is my personal BB and which I have always synced with my personal outlook via USB.
I now have both Outlooks set to sync to Google which means (I think) I can enter an item on any of the four devices and within ten minutes it should show up on the other three.
