Gmail application...
Some people use the Gmail application, and swear by it, and some other people like me just add an account in BIS -since you can add at least 10...
What I want to know is, if using the Gmail application, and I receive an email, should I be notified INSTANTLY? And, how do you set a notification for said application? I see nothing in 'Profiles'. I did try and set the browser settings for notification, but no luck...

I don't think the GMail app will notify you of new mail. You have to actually open the app and "check" for new mail. Is that what you're asking?
-
Exactly what I was asking. I don't understand what the big fuss is about this application then...
Ps: thanks for the info!

It'll work without a Blackberry specific data plan. You can setup APN settings under TCP and use it to get GMail with only a GPRS cell phone data plan.
Also, some people like it because it keeps their personal mail separate from their BES mail.

Aye!! I use it cause I cannot afford rogers BB data plans, i have their $10 for 10mb data plan which is for regular cell phones, and John is right it will not ''NOTIFY'' you of new emails but you can have it preload the messages if need be :)..and yes I swear by it to, simply due to that fact that if it wasn't available, I probably never would have found my love for BB :)

If you're like me and have everything stored in gmail .. chat logs, phone numbers addresses etc. It's nice to be able to login and search your gmail account for old/archived info.
Where was the birthday party at again? Oh, login to gmail app, search for party and there's the email from a month ago :-)
