    Hi Crackberry,

Basically my HTC Wildfire S is on its last legs, and I want to try something new. I am in Denmark, and it is impossible to find a carrier with BIS, so that doesent matter. I will just use it for calling, WiFi, texting, calender and such. Needs to be 3G compatible and run on danish net with sim card etc.

I have limited money, but have two used options. Both are in good condition, but without receipts and have been used with Danish simcards.

1: Blackberry Bold 9650 - comes with usb cable. No charger, but can supposedly be charged through the USB cable.

2: Blackberry Bold 9000 - comes with box and everything.

Which one would be the better purchase for my use? I plan on using this phone for the next 6-8 months, and just need stable well working phone.

    Thanks,

    -Alex

    Hello There Axl H,

In my opinion Bold 9650 is a grate device better then 9000, and you dont have to worry about charger you can buy a charger from your local electronic store.

But if you have just a bit more money to spend it would be better if you buy a Bold 9780 is one of the best devices before Os7 came out. i had one and i trade it for my torch 9810 i didn't get to much $ from it but enough to put twords my new BB Torch 9810 Os7.1

Hope you will find your match Bold and enjoy your BB as much is i enjoy them.

Like the person above me said, pick a 9650. Using one right now for the fast 6 month, nothing wrong with it and some how I get BIS working on my local carrier where CDMA/GSM BB's are not supported. Spen some more money and go with the 9780 if you don't like the 9650 bulk.

The 9650 is way better and can be upgraded to os 6 unlike the 9000.

Here's a quick way to compare. You will note that the 9000 is from 2008, and the 9650 is from 2010.

    BlackBerry Bold 9650 vs. BlackBerry Bold 9000 - GSMArena.com

In my opinion, since the 9650 runs OS 6, it is the better choice based just on that.

You may want to also check out Ebay for a phone before you buy anything. I got my Bold 9900 for about $290 Canadian dollars. You might be able to find a newer device that runs OS7 like the 9900, or 9810 which are both very fine phones.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I have found a blackberry curve 8900, how is that compared to the two others? It's quite a bit cheaper

I had the 8900 and 9000. I would take the 9650 over both of the others because it has a trackpad. The trackball will get dirty just from using it normally, while the trackpad never gets like that. Also, the Bold 9650 keyboard is better than the 8900, and feels better than the clicky sounds of the 8900 while typing. The 8900 still has a good screen and camera though. 3.2 megapixels with auto focus was good for its time.

Ok, thanks. Is the 8900 usable with 3G? Also, if it was the 8900 vs 9000, which is the better phone?

well 8900 has a 3.2mp camera and more internal Ram
which helps with freezing. its a 2G only phone.
the 9000 has a 2.0mp camera less internal ram, but is
3G capable depending on who your carrier is.
I would go for your first choice the 9650 way better than
    both these phones.

Okay, so the 9650 is the best, even is in bulk form?

How can you check if a blackberry is stolen? Just want to make sure before I buy used
