Yep, ASUS are a real dark horse and a very innovative company.

They seem to be mastering the niche product market in a way BlackBerry should seriously learn from.

I would love one of these Padfones with BB10 on it.

I could dock my (hopefully 4 inch physical Qwerty keypad Q30) with it while others might be able to dock their Z10/Z30/Q10 to the same or similar unit.

Whatever people want to say about the LG and Samsung bendy phones, at least they offer a new experience, even if the use case scenario is over played and over marketed.

Imo, this is the way forward for blackberry, licencing the os to other companies to make the hardware while manufacturing a blackberry phone to showcase the os, a bit like what Google do with the nexus. Only my opinion ofcourse.

Does Asus a device mfg? Only device mfg like Sammy can make it cheaper. - the overhead on the components are low if you use your own.

I guess by this reasoning the Z30 and all BlackBerry 10.2 devices are garbage as well LOL. US carriers get with it will you? The rest of the world is passing you by.

I'm sure this thread was probably in jest, but given that ASUS is a member of the Android Open Handset Alliance, they are prohibited from manufacturing hardware for BB10, as BB10 falls under the "non-certified Android" definition by Google, as long as it contains Android code. OHA members are not allowed to produced hardware for non-certified Android usage, even as a third-party OEM. And before you bring it up, this ONLY applies to OSs that use non-certified Android; it doesn't affect other OSs, such as WinPhone.

I've been dreaming of BlackBerry to come up with something like this ever since the original PadFone. I love the idea. I would go for one if I was a fan of Android.

And if they do...market it like crazy. Since the Asus thing, while a great idea, never caught on but that could be due to marketing. This idea really in innovative.
