I was searching around here couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

Can you text on Wifi the same way you make calls using UMA?

I don't get very good service in my apartment building and I got the curve for the Wifi connectivity and I also text a lot so hopefully someone can answer my question.

    Thanks in advance

network/service book dependant, wi-fi surfing, calls & texts all go over wi-fi for me, and most broadband providers wi-fi @ that ! even though Orange say Orange Broadband ONLY, bad news for open wi-fi, great news for me

UMA works by turning broadband wi-fi into a mini cell that connects to your telco network server

Telcos cell sites have exactly the same - a broadband connection, although with massive gigs & gigs of bandwidth

UMA over broadband uses about 80kbps
