Default Galaxy Note 2 Competitor? Made by BlackBerry

I really think the Galaxy Note 2 is a very good product - RIM should consider a competitor to that device with a better OS and lighter too .. make it a lean mean business machine. if you have tried one of those, chime in on this Idea ...

Well they were close with the PlayBook but completely dropped the ball when it came to pen input.

I think it is a good idea only if RIM is not going to make another tablet, but this should only happen if the other bb10 devices sell well.

I think this is a great idea! There's definitely a market out there for larger phones, however, I don't think that having a stylus would fit in with what Thorsten has said about being able to use BB10 with one hand. A larger screened BB10 phone would be great though!

You can use it with one hand running through the airport, but there are an awful lot of people who want to write/sketch/take a signature for delivery receipt or credit card. It should be flexible enough to allow that level of detail.

I'd buy it. Also something never talked about is a qwerty Note sized device. Would be interesting to have a massive physical keyboard device.

the A series would likely be close to a Note. It should also have beefed up specs. I cant wait to actually see it

The Note 2 has a great screen. I put my PlayBook up next to one in a store and I couldn't get over how small the screen was next to it. You would think that 1.5"s wouldn't make that much difference but it does. It would be interesting to see one with a slider keyboard.

The A series really interests me, although I don't know if I can wait that long to get a BB10 device.

I still think it would be nice just to have a 7" PlayBook with full phone capabilities and do back down to carrying just one device.

The note size is perfect! I would have a hard time going back to a 4 inch screen. It would be a very smart move to make a BB10 phone in this size,

I'd give anything to have a BB device that I could use a stylus and handwrite with.

Isn't the A series supposed to have a 4.7" screen? That's smaller than the S3's 4.8" screen. I don't think many would say the S3 is close to the Note. It might not sound like a lot, but the difference between the S3's 4.8" screen and the Note's 5.5" screen is actually pretty noticeable.

OK...I'm curious. Please explain why bigger screens are stupid, in your learned estimation.

The A series was meant to have a 4.7" screen, but the odds are that will change by the time it launches since a 720p display would be step-down as far as ppi, so the odds are that we eventually see a 5" 1080p display or similar when the A series eventually shows up in about a year.

There is no chance of it stopping and they do offer something different over a more portable one-handed usable size like the l-series even if they don't suit everyone.

People like bigger. People first whined when the 9000 came out that it was too big. So they made the 9700. Then they all wanted bigger again. 9900.

I was really mad when they made the 9700 what seemed like nearly a third in size smaller than the 9000. I was so pleased with the 9000's size. I love larger devices.

That wouldn't surprise me at all either, go up from 4.7" 720 to a 5" 1080p and you would have something that offers both a difference in form factor and a spec upgrade to l-series upgraders if it shows up in about a year.

My 5'2" wife LOVES her Note (not note2) and even though she has had comments about such a big phone for a little person, she tells them the better to see things on her phone! I agree, as we are not getting any younger, and sometimes my poor old eyes have a tough time reading what is on my 9810. My Atrix is better, and of course my playbook and SGT at 7 inches are the best for viewing mobile content. I will get a bb10 L model, and am anxiously awaiting the A model, to compare the screen size.
