How on earth do some of you have 15-26mb free on your bb's? I've gone through all the tips and deleted/optimized everything possible and even on a hard reset I am only able to get 8mb free.

What did you remove? List them in detail.

When I had my 8820, I use to run between 29-32 MB.

The 8820 has 64 Mb, just like the Pearl and Curve.

Did you use Application Loader and a copy of your device software? That is really the best way to control the installed applications.

If you have third party applications installed, that could account for the limited amount of memory you are reporting.

The most accurate number is right after a restart. All the temporary files are cleared.

The large items have been deleted, I would expect you to show 16+ Mb after a restart.

The Content Store tends to grow over time as you install/uninstall apps. A wipe and reinstall of the same OS and apps will recover some of that space. You might check to see how large yours has gotten.

The later model 8330 has 96 Mb, a nice improvement over the memory starved Pearls and Curves at 64 Mb.

The engineers at BlackBerry have been paying attention, more memory is always the right answer.
