Just a quick ? and i know this is gonna be based solely on opinions.......
Everything i have read to date tells me that i need to get a used Curve while i wait impatiently for the 9630. Question is: Would i be making a mistake in picking up a used 8830 if i can get one for $80? Will i be NOT getting the full BB experience? reason i ask is cuz the curves i see are goin for $150-200. if there's no major downside to goin with the 8830 i wouldn't mind savin myself a few bucks.

Please fire away, ALL opinions are greatly appreciated Thanks.

Why wouldn't you be getting the 'full' BB experience on an 8830?

I've just read alot of ppl's favor of the Curve's qwerty over the 8830's apparently "not as nice" kb and just in general haven't heard as much praise for the 8830 as i have heard everyone's undying love for the Curve sung from the mountaintops, lol.

The two things that come to mind are
    1) The 8830 has no camera
    2) The 8830 uses a 2.5mm headphone jack
The standard is 3.5mm so you will need specific
    headphones or and adapter

If you can live with both of those, go for it.

Well the Curve is a workhorse and has been for RIM through 3 models (8310, 8320, 8330) and the 8830 is a newer model relatively and probably has less users overall. My brother has the 8830 and loves it.
Just a matter of opinion I guess.

The 8830 is not newer than the 8310, 8320 or 8330.

Hmmm, the 2.5 doesn't concern me as much since i've never been one for wired headsets (use BT if anything at all) but i guess i would have 2 decide if the camera is worth another $70+ unless there are any big performance issues between the phones as well?

The 8330 has 1.5 times more memory than the 8830 (96MB vs. 64MB) so it's hard to get into low memory situations with the 8330.

LOL at "Posted from my CrappyQ"

As for which one, the 8830 is a World Edition phone, same as is Storm and Tour (you are waiting for) will be, so if you are planning on any traveling out of US, that might be a reason to get the 8830, other than that, the Curve is
a nicer "all around" phone as mentioned previously.
