I agree that you can use cell phones appropriately. But with everything they should be used with others in mind. I hate when people are talking on the phone while ordering food or having others wait on them.

If there's some rules on how to use your BlackBerry, it should be applied to all cellphone uses. Don't discriminate against just BlackBerry!

My favorite thing in terms of rudeness is the folks at work who sit there and check their e-mails during a meeting and then have the nerve to ask you to repeat yourself or talk about stuff you've already covered and say, "oh I'm sorry I had an important thing going on".... I think that's me biggest blackberry no-no, either pay attention or check out of the meeting....

I think there are "rules". They are just plain rules of common decency. I find that most BB user don't have a problem with being rude. That's what separates BB users from the others.

Well, I was just sitting around with the family this Chirstmas Eve. I am sitting there on my BB while everyone else was having a conversation. No one said anything, but I felt the pressure.

I was able to turn it around a little by pulling up google maps (which is really cool with GPS) and answering some movie trivia by googling the answer. go Google!

The same as for cell phone etiquette, if we were to make any. Of course, there's always exceptions and extenuating circumstances...

All couples on birthday and anniversary dinner dates should pass thru an airport style screening - would ensure harmony and good etiquette.

I would have to blame myself for using my Blackberry to get sports updates while driving. Not too smart on the L.A. freeways.

Definitely keep in your pocket/holster during a movie, the screen can be so distracting.

I'd have to say that BBs should be turned off, or if you are expecting a VERY important call, put it on silent or vibrate. Otherwise, all attention should be focused on the meeting itself and the people within. Other than that, I have no problems with BBs/cell phones being uses in restaurants (as long as the person is not talking as loud as they can!). Oh yeah, put that thing away at the movies man!

I was on a bus and some doctors were using their new blackberrys. They asked us to move over so they could sit together and sat out in the aisle and were showing off their screens and stuff. But when I asked what model they had, they just snubbed away. dum doctors. ALWAYS show off your blackberry if someone asks --- NEVER shove off your blackberry if someone doesn't care. That's my rule.
