I have read quite a few threads, but none have been quite as precise as mine.

I have a Hotmail account and the service books are registered; I can successfully receive and read all incoming messages, additionally I can send e-mails successfully to myself INCLUDING all non-hotmail users as it seems. (ergo I can't send an e-mail to a "@hotmail.com" but I can to any other non-live server)

When I try sending an e-mail to a microsoft live account (as I have), the message momentarily shows up as sent (maybe for half a second to a second) and then turns into a red cross, accompanied with a buzz and the ring I would get if I had receive a new e-mail, with the notifier "general failure".

I have tried a few fixes that were proposed, such as going onto the live account and checking save sent messages or re-registering service books.. no luck so far..

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Many thanks in advance for your advice,

    Gui.
