FaceBook to buy Whatsapp?
It looks like FB is at it again and this time will be aquiring the second best messaging app out there, Whats app. No hard data to provide yet but its to be expected soon.
Anyone hazzard a guess what they'll pay or what this will mean for Whats app or other messaging apps.
Dose this start to show more value in BBM? I believe it does.Judge most Tech Articles by the comments it received, not by what the author is saying! Gets to the truth every time! - 12-03-2012, 06:24 AM #2BB4Life

What's wrong with WhatsApp? In fact, I'd definitely go with my Note 2, and stick a PAYG Sim in my Torch (for keyboard), if there was a messenger that was half as good as BBM.
What's App seems very... "Blah". - 12-03-2012, 06:45 AM #5
What's wrong with what's app? It was plastered all over the internet not too long ago...

interesting. I had no idea of this, not a big deal as I only have one contact, who now has BBM again.

Yeah its definitely a bummer. The software works well, and I know everyone in Europe uses it to save money. But ZERO security... Its no good

The one person i WhatsApp is in Africa, so international SMS wouldn't be worth it. Otherwise for cross-platform i've been using Hookt

I've never tried hookt, but I did use what's app quite a bit this last summer. Its not that realistic but if we can get more people on bbm, or even a slimmed down cross platform version, we'd be set
