but today something weird has happened. First, the hourglass is everpresent and everything now takes forever. Yesterday, no hourglass and moving from application to application was quick. In additon, now on the phone page, no incoming or outcoming calls are stored. There is no longer a history of contacts. Any thoughts? TIA.

Well, have you tried powering down your handheld? And rebooting?

And also, try to pull your battery out.

When was the last time that you clear your Browser cache, and do you have a lot of messages ( text and email) that you've read stored on you BB?

Click the "options" icon (the wrench). scroll down to "status" and click it. Look for "File Free" and tell us what that number is.

Start with a battery pull - with your BB on, take off the back cover and remove the battery. Leave it out for 30 seconds, then reinsert it. It'll power up and reset. That should free some up so you aren't pulling your hair out before you do the memory free suggestions.

Edit: sorry - saw you had already tried it.

2,806,859? That's only 2.8MB. For your phone to work at it's best you need to have at least 10MB which would be 10,000,000 bytes. Are you sure you didn't miss a digit?

Thats what i was thinking. Thats why i guided her to that link i gave her. Its the easiest and fastest way to free up space for newbies. I hope she/he was missing a digit

If he missed a digit that would most likely mean hes at 28mbs lol. If thats the case, then i need to talk to this guy. I barely hit 24

Thats true also. i am steadily at 21mbs. I am thinking thats why her berry is lagging. The lack of free space.

That's why I was asking lol, if he missed a digit and is in fact above 20MB, his phone has a serious problem.

I just checked my 8330 and my file free is 38878224. Is something wrong for it to be this high? I just downloaded the beta 4.5 OS today so not sure if that has anything to do with this.

Noooo, I'm sorry bud, I should have specified. If he has 20MB of memory, and his phone is being that slow, he has a serious problem. There's no such thing as too much memory! If your phone is working fine you have nothing to worry about. Having 38MB free is a good thing.
