I'm selling my 8830 World Edition (Alltel) on EBay and a potential buyer wants the ESN from my device. The phone has been deactivated (is that the right term (?) by Alltel) and the number has been transerred to another phone.

    My questions are:

    1. What does this ESN tell the potential buyer?
    2. Should I share it; do I have any exposure?

Thanks, not a newbie but not a crackberry type either.

Giving the person the ESN is normal so they can call their provider and make sure it can be activated or isn't stolen.
