Has anyone tried EQO (pronounced Echo) on their BB? It's apparently a skype like tool/competitor that advertises free instant messaging. I am wondering if anyone has messed with it yet and what your thoughts are?

    Thanks!

I tried it for a while... not bad. it did disconnect-reconnect a little too often. I don't have a strong signal at home, might be it...I D/L'd jivetalk (finally, after hudreds of posts raving about it, lol) and quite quickly deleted EQO. no problems at all with JiveTalk. I know it's a free app vs 20-30 bucks, but if you actually IM a lot, it's worth it.

I use EQO. I like how it works personally for me. It's really meant to be used sort of like Skype the same way Nimbuzz is but I only use it for IM. Another one to consider (including Nimbuzz) is bing.

I'm all for supporting developers who make fine products like JiveTalk, but if there's plenty of multiple IM clients out there that are free and could work for you.

bing - your mobile room for good friends - Home
Nimbuzz - Instant Messaging and VoIP for Your Cell Phone
Free or cheap international mobile calls, texts and IM - EQO
