I posted yesterday afternoon asking advice about whether to get a BlackBerry (I've never had one before). Also about whether I should wait for the Curve (through Verizon) or get the Pearl. Well, I went last night and came home with a Pearl.

I am already addicted to it. I managed to get all of my e-mail accounts synched with it last night, but am still trying to figure out the other stuff. I'll probably be asking a lot of questions today!

Welcome aboard ! My 2 cents - you made the right decision going with the Pearl. The Curve doens't seem to offer anything more than a full keyboard - which equals more bulk !! Once you get used to SureType you are golden !

Before I got my blackberry I was thinking about getting an Iphone. As I was at the AT&T store playing with the Iphone.... I got totally dissatisfied when the text messaging keys kept skipping letters and giving me letters that I didn't type in. I went to the blackberry and fell in love with the 8310 Blackberry curve. Yeah it doesn't have a touchscreen but at least I can type decent!

Hey Heather (and everyone else) - I am in the same boat, got my Pearl the second week of April and haven't looked back (went from a Krzr K1m and paid full price for the pearl lol). I am addicted already, I love it! I am in Canada on Bell Mobility...the only thing I wish is that we had Unlimited Browser up here like for a standard phone, it's the only thing keeping me from living online...as far as the Suretype, I got the hang of it in a couple of days and now can text SO much faster.

And yeah, already getting crackberry thumb.

I looked at the Curve the other day (Bell just got it) and other than the keyboard it's not really different, but bigger - which for a girl makes a difference (being dainty and all *snerk*).
