Hi all.....just purchased my first BB....Pearl 8130 from Verizon. After a week...I'm already asking myself how I ever survived without it....
I am looking into upgrading my e-mail program so I can view HTML e-mails. It seems like it's either Empower Pro or the BBSmart program. Any suggestions? Do they both incorporate themselves into the current e-mail program? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

I just purchased Empower after the trial expired. I tried both BBsmart and Empower. I prefer Empower, but you can't go wrong with either one.
i have the same berry and service and have bbsmart. it works fine w/ it, but to be honest i don't really use it that much. most of the emails i receive are text only so i don't feel a need to use it. it does incorporate easily and is easy to use. good luck. :)
I use Empower pro because I like the fact that it integrates not ony with the email program, but also with the calendar and tasks. It also offers integration with PocketDay.
Wait for the OS 4.5 upgrade, free HTML email!

I tried both - both integrate easily and I liked both. I think it's a small price to pay for html e-mail. Even so, go with BBSmart and save the couple of dollars difference.
(I got BBSmart for free a couple of weeks back when Crackberry had a special promotion. :))

I just got empower standard, $10 - good enough until upgrade.
Yeah.....I probably only need the Standard....but the word PRO just sold me.
What is a BES device? Is that different then my Pearl? RIM right?
Any idea on when that might be coming down the pike?
@ cervoni -- BES is the mostly corporate BlackBerry Enterprise Service.
@ dlgus -- Likely the OS updates will rollout by model and carrier over sometime, although at this point many carriers are already testing it. Some sooner than others... maybe in the next 30-60 days.
