When I send an email from my home pc though gmail I get an email alert on my curve and see the outgoing message.
This does not happen when I send a message from my Yahoo account from my home pc.
I think I set them up the same way through the email setup.
Why would I get an emai alert for a message SENT from my home pc from my gmail account?

Because of the way that gmail works, you need to create a filter in your BIS to not push messages from your gmail address.

Called Verizon, they set my BIS account and took me to the website and walked me through these changes.
Thanks all
and thanks Verizon - their customer service has always been good, at least for me.
