Default Email set up: I don't want BES!

When I go to set up my email I only have an option for BES.

I tried options>advanced>host routing table> resister now and still nothing.

Where did you get the phone? If from the carrier then give them a call.

It's unlocked and I'm using it on AT&T. Used it before without problems. When I asked them they had no answer.

Ok it may have been a corp. Phone. May have to remove the IT policy on the phone.

No, it was purchased by me on another local carrier and used for a while before I went to AT&T. Now my iPhone is broken and I needed to use the berry as a backup and I'm having this issue.

Do you have BIS provisioned on your line? A regular data plan won't work - it needs to be a BIS (or RIM)-specific one.

Devhux is right. You will need Blackberry internet in order to set up your email.

You need to have BIS enabled on your data plan so that you can setup your email. Give AT&T a call.

I confirmed with AT&T that I have the proper data plan. Still nothing.

On your device, go Options>Device>Device status. Once there, type "buyr", a few items will pop up at the bottom, data usage, air time and IT policy. Let us know what it says under IT policy.

It's prob the policy like what everyone is saying but maybe you can try and create an account, login and create your emails on the website. I can set up my work and personal emails there and on the phone.

www.blackberry.com/integrate Open this site from your device browser. It will register you on the BlackBerry Wireless Network.

You will be able to add your BIS e-mails to your device. You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan for this to work. Let me know how it goes please.
