I missed my parents offering to take me out to dinner (and I love good food!) because I was busy playing brick breaker.

I am a Professional Santa and this season I had a really hard time letting go to do the gigs. As soon as I was done, I'd be right on the blackberry. A few people spotted me and were laughing. I used the maps/directions feature of google maps for getting from event to event this year.

    It worked great!!

I think a first step to break crackberry addict mentality is to slowly ween yourself away from the device. Like the old saying goes "out of sight, out of mind." So you should start with turning your profile to (at least) "Quiet" (except for important calls) if not "Off". Good luck with that!

Is it considered an addiction if you don't feel a need for a cure? Seriously, most of the things I do with my BB only take a few moments. I spend the most time on it to learn all of the features. I'm the kind of person that won't quit studying about a new toy until I can use virtually everything on it. Why would you bother to buy something with so many capabilities and not try to learn how to use it to the maximum?

My addiction with this Blackberry is getting out of hand. As a teacher, I know we are not to respond to phone calls in class but when my phone rings or vibrates or when a message comes thru, I immediately pick up the phone regardless if I am teaching or not. When I pull the phone out of the holster, the kids are amazed and say things like "That phone is tight!" I respond, "I know and I am addicted to it! Can't you see!"

Well I work from home and our business is open 24/7. Having the BB allows me to have a 'mobile office' for e-mail/net/text/calls/callendar sync etc.
Then there is the personal useage for staying in touch with friends etc.

It's with me all day and waits by my bed all night (in case a work call comes in). It's an extension to my hand :-)

I could not stop using my blackberry but I just recovered from a serious bout of the flu and I did not use my blackberry for about 2 days straight during that time.

good way to avoid it is, 3 or 4 days after you buy a brand new 8830 drop it in the toilet..... then you get a nice refurb from the insurance co. that will bum you out!

I just got mine for Christmas, and I cant get enough of it. I can't seem to put it down. So much info in such a little gadget. Way cool. I not understand why anyone would need anything else, this dose it all.

I just got my blackberry about a two weeks ago. I am still learning all the features and playing with it. I guess you can tell that I am a little addicted since while people were opening gifts for xmas I was still staring at my BB.

Addicted? I've only had my curve for 4 days and I've already got a dedicated space for it in every room so no matter what I'm doing, I can get to it and answer it's narcotic like call quickly. *Only slightly kidding*

I wish I had time to be addicted to my BB, but with 2 jobs and 2 toddlers to take care of, it has to take a backseat to many things.
