    So far, I have received ONE message from the "Emergency Alert Message" Service. And I am right in the path of Sandy. It was a message notifying me that the Zone A area of Rockaway, New York was to be evacuated by early afternoon yesterday. The message cam through at 11 PM... LAST NIGHT. No other warnings or advsories AT ALL. Fairly useless as far as I'm concerned. Fortunately, my BeWeather and NYC notifications have been keeping me posted on various advisories and transit closings,

    just got a second message thru the EAM service(8:45PM). the notice was issued at 8PM and was received by other methods at 8:01PM. NYC emergency notices were right on time to both email and SMS accounts.
