I vaguely remember that there was an expiration date of something like January 1, 2015 for movie purchases made through BlackBerry World's 99 cent sale from last year. What this means is that if you have movies that you haven't downloaded or want to keep in archive, you'll need to grab it soon; otherwise, you won't be able to grab it after January 1st.

When I open my Videos icon, I see the videos I purchased from BlackBerry World listed. If I click one, there's a message that it can't be opened and I must download it or the license again. How do I do that? Obviously BlackBerry World doesn't have it anymore.

It's still there, just wait for it to completely load, then go to your videos section.

If you've been storing the movies on the SD card and have switched devices or upgraded the OS, you might have to "download" the movie again, though it'll only take a second or two. The download happens fast because the movie is already on the SD card and only the license is updated/downloaded.

But after Jan 1st (or what ever date there was - some were only a few months) you are no longer able to download or verify the DRM on that movie... even if you have the whole 4G saved on your card. You need both the file and the DRM "key" to play one of these moves, and after the expiration date you no longer have access to either.

I had several movies that were $.99 that the expiration was only a few months after the "sale" date... as I prefer doing clean installs I've lost the ability to download the DRM "key" and thus the ability to watch those movies. Not a big deal as these were just $.99 promotional videos, but it makes me really appreciate iTunes even more.

As long as you have the films downloaded and on the memory, they will play as soon as the update finishes and the phone boosts up. Do quite a few OS updates and film continued to play.

If you have the films downloaded and in the video folder, go into BlackBerry World - My World - My Videos, wait a minute for your videos to appear, at the top of the screen you will see 3 tabs, Rentals - Films - TV shows. Select Films and your purchased films will appear. The ones you have already downloaded and won't play, click to install the license key, installing the license key will only take 30 seconds at most as their only about 5MB or less. Once you install the license key the films will play. Remember you only get to install the license key around 5 times.

Make sure to go to the My Videos section of BlackBerry World.
Download Movie Purchases Before Jan. 1, 2015-img_20141227_080847.png

Then just tap the download button to the right of the movie. If it's already loaded on your device or SD card it will only take a few seconds to download the license.

Guys any ideas on a resolution to this now that BlackBerry World doesn't have any video section ? BlackBerry just changed my device under warranty repair and now the files say I don't have the licenses. Any ideas?

I admit I'm not savvy at all with different the features of different platforms and services at all but I thought iTunes content was restricted by platform, drm, etc. Didnt realize it could work that easily. Just drag the files over?

    Q.

You can purchase movies from iTunes, download them to a PC, then just simply plug your BlackBerry 10 device in via USB and Copy & Paste these movies onto BlackBerry 10 device from the PC. Is this right?

Also, ripping Blu-ray, DVDs on PC via Media Player, then Copy & Paste to Device works, is this right?

I love BlackBerry, but this is why I love my iPad Air 2 and know better than to get a BlackBerry tablet again.

BlackBerry and entertainment don't go very well together.

They shut down the music and movie store, and then don't even allow people to download the things they've already paid for in the past?
