So I am obviously enjoying my Q10 but I'm wondering... those that have it, do you notice it becomes warm fairly quickly? or is that happening just with me?

Obviously warmth level depends on usage. Say, I am charging and skyping it, then it becomes hot. But if I am casually browsing the internet or whatsapping, I can feel the back surface warmer than my 9900.

    Input is advised, thank you.

I picked up a Q10 to setup for a customer and the device is warm/hot to say the least along the left side specifically. I am not even using LTE I am on wi-fi and I am charging the phone which will make it a bit warmer obviously but I've noticed the heat whether it is charging or not and I don't have to be using the phone for a long period either. My other devices get warm the longer the screen is on.

The righthand side does, under the USB port but Battery Guru reports 21 degrees Celsius.

That's definitely more than 21 degrees. When the phone is being used and charging, it becomes significantly hot. However, when just being used it stays warm for the duration of the usage.

I never use my phone when it's plugged in and charging so I can't comment on that specifically, however when streaming audio over LTE and browsing the Web it gets hot hot hot. It also gets hot while playing certain games.

Either the CPU is near the right side or a radio chip is...
Was streaming music via Link earlier, touched the Q10 and dropped it on my bed due to the heat - 42 degrees Celsius according to Battery Guru!

    Hi,

I had the same problem. Here it was a huge Evernote account. After disabling it, everthing is "cool" now. While working it getting warm, but so do my iP***** 5, especially during gaming or watching movies.

    Best regards,

I've been using Q10 for 2 days. Whole day connecting with USB to my laptop, keep installing new apps. No heat issue problem from my device so far. By the way, mine is Singapore local set.

Hi, I experience the same thing, light browsing makes it warm, playing music with the display off sort of makes the back a little warm too. It isnt hot at all, but you can feel it. I think it has to do with the more powerful processor these phones require. A little bothersome...

Yeah both my Q and my 9900 gets really warm during use. I've just always considered it to be heavy use.

My Z10 has been doing this more often since the 10.1 update. Do far I've narrowed it down to Skype, which I deleted (make sure to do a reboot after deleting apps because I found out if you delete and let the battery drain down without a reboot the app reappears), and other Android ports. My guess is this is going to be an issue until 10.2 at least as they appear to be putting a lot of effort into the player (probably because the major apps are just wanting to port).

My Q10 only gets warm when I'm streaming or Bridge my Playbook and stream. If its in the case and I'm streaming it warms up even more. (no vent) But tbe battery life is awesome.

Had my q10 for almost 4 days now. The device gets warm on the back as well as the screen. This happens with everything off, 1 email sync to 2 hrs, and just browsing on crackberry app, all other apps closed. All this on wifi.
Today I was on lte and had to make a couple phone calls and the phone went really hot. The screen became so warm that it was a uncomfortable to put it against ear.
Batter temp runs at 34 degrees just writing this...not sure what the issues are. maybe faulty device perhaps.

Mine's a Singapore version. Just bought it yesterday, and the heat issue led me to this thread. Hardly any apps loaded on it yet and not very intense usage.
