    Like the title asks, are developers able to charge an upgrade price for their apps?

    I know this is a point of contention for iOS developers (Android too?).

    It was possible before, but they canceled it in favor of in-app purchases of additional features.

    That's too bad, it could have been a nice differentiating feature for developers to take advantage of. It seems it could do some good if BlackBerry improved developer relations and gave them more options.

    In times where most people use ad-based apps with no associated cost (except for emotional distress because I hate ads), I wonder if such a move wouldn't annoy consumers to the point of making BBW an even more undesirable app store than it already is.

    The evolution of Android having 70+% of the market, surely has something to do with getting a lot of apps for free.
