Would never own anything by Apple. Not going to be a slave to their ecosystem(s). Linux all the way, Sachesi works fantasticly on it, I can get just about anything else to work as well. I use Linux and Blackberry for their security. Isn't that why a lot of us use BB anyway?
My Windows box, dual boot machine, Linux Ubuntu/ Windows 8) -for the rare times I need Windows for a particular app-, has been compromised twice in the last 8 months.

Built PC, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I honestly don't get people who gets viruses and slow-downs. I'm on my PC all of the time and leave it on 24/7 and never have a crash, don't have pop-ups, never have a virus, never have any issues with it... Same with my friends. Have you guys considered that maybe you shouldn't install a bunch of useless programs onto it that run in the background, or to NOT click on things advertising "Free" whatever online? Or that you're the millionth visitor and that you've won the internets??

PC. Had a Mac as well. Didn't like it enough to buy another. Also I work with point of sale systems and the Mac presence there is nil.

That said there are things I do like about OS X. Just prefer Windows.

Wouldn't touch a Mac. Just not worth the money in my opinion. Also I game on my PC, and I find there are more titles for Windows.

I recently built a PC - i7 4790k, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd, gtx 780, in a nice looking mini atx brushed aluminum case; looks as good as a mac (better imo), and performance wise it destroys anything Apple offers for the price. (Cost me about $1200, all new)

PC. Windows 10. I know people will jump on me. But the performance of Windows 8.1 and stability I found fantastic. It just needed some changes aesthetically. They have done that with Windows 10. For anyone that hasn't at least tried Windows 10 they should.

With office365 , OneDrive and cross platform potential, Windows has, I think, stepped beyond its competetors.

My wife has MacBook Pro. I find most apple products too controlling in how to do things. She loves her Mac but has recently admitted that Windows 10 is pretty nice.

Linux Mint 17 with Cinnamon on my custom built PC, and Manjaro Linux with Cinnamon on my Toshiba laptop. Will never go back to Windows or OS X. Linux is the BlackBerry of computing: extremely secure and reliable. Been using Linux for 3 years now and it does everything I want without spying in me, and the open source community is second to none when it comes to questions, help, bug fixes, requesting new features, etc., and the ability to contact the developers directly with any concerns is a big plus. It's a shame that Mr. Chen has ignored us Linux users, though.

All Windows PCs at my house. Wife uses a Dell all-in-one with touch screen. We just got my oldest son a Dell laptop with touchscreen a week ago (and I updated it to Win 10 this past weekend). My youngest son will get the older brother's Dell desktop that was handed down to him from my wife when she got the all-in-one. The old Dell is an Inspiron desktop we got back in '08.

My PC is a custom built AMD based computer that I originally put together back in late '05, and upgraded with new parts (mb, cpu, ram, hd and Win 7 from XP) just last year. It also got upgraded to Win 10 this past weekend.

Waiting to update the wife's OS (currently on Win 8.1) till she has time not working on it.

The old Dell desktop came with XP, but loaded a new Win 7 last year when I got the parts for my PC. I bought 2 Win 7 licenses when I got the parts. So I can update the old Dell to Win 10 too.

The only Apple product in my house is my wife's iPhone 5C.

I had a Vista machine running up until late last year. Power supply went - had nothing to do with the OS. Vista was as solid as Windows 2K for me, and I kept Windows 2K until I upgraded to Vista.

Now in the past year I've had Windows 8, Windows 7, and now Windows 10. I'll say that 10 seems defensible.

At work, the tip is in favor of Mac. We work mostly in the cloud on Linux so the base really is a minor matter of preference. You can't tear those Thunderbolts away.
