I have the torch and its been a great phone. The issue I have had and with it is with wifi. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't on the mobile network so I opened the managed connections and unchecked the mobile network then I clicked the wifi network box. So if I go download music and files am I on wifi? The only reason I ask is because the data services still sat they are on. If I turn off data services I can't connect to the net.

Yes you need to have data plan on to use wifi. When you switch to wifi check your service status>connection it will change to wifi automatically and if you change to data service you'll see mobile network
