Depends. I usually mark messages saved then delete the rest weekly. I used to save EVERYTHING then wondered why I only had 5 MB memory lol At one point in time I had around 6000 SMS messages and around 100 MMS messages

Reason: Adding information...
I have mine set to delete everything that's over a month old. But on emails, I usually delete them after I read them, unless I need to keep it for some reason. Works fine for me. I usually have around 3000 SMS messages at all times.
Also, whatever you have your Auto Delete set to, works for your call logs too.

I usually delete text messages right after I read them since there typically is not anything real important in them. Emails that are important and require follow-up I will keep and delete them once the reminder of the message is no longer needed.
I delete them as soon as I read them. I use GMail as my primary address that's pushed to my BlackBerry. I can always retrieve those messages with the GMail application.

My BlackBerry is set to delete messages every 15 days. I delete my emails cause I don't want my regular inbox (on the PC) to be full of messages I read.
