Okay so here's my gripe for the week, I was headed to the bank after work and I encountered that I had to wait in a huge line in order to withdraw some funds from my account. As I'm waiting, the line keeps getting larger and larger due to the numerous conversations that the tellers and customers have in the process of executing transactions (Ugh aggravating).

Well as im patiently waiting and accessing the crackberry site to see what new news/questions have come up from/for all my fellow crackberrions a phone screeches in back of me. A lady answers, after several attempts of her finding the phone in her purse and several annoyed stares, and she's litterally screaming at the top of her lungs that she's at the bank and that she wont make her appointment on time with a freind that she was supposed to meet. Well, I was shocked, annoyed and fuming mad and I turned around utterly appalled that she has the audacity to keep her continuous conversation so public that all the customers at the bank have found out who, what where and why she is going to be late for her appointment and to my disappointment she was screaming her lungs off into a poor, innocent, red blackberry pearl.

Well I was happy to be out of that line cuz she kept her conversation even at the tellers line when and as the teller was asking her question...Ugghh how rude can that be? I absolutely hate when people have these public conversations for all to hear that are supposed to be somewhat private and discreet

So here's my question for the day: Has this kind of scenerio happened to you, in any way, shape or form with any type of phone (not necesarrily a BB of any type) and what happened ? I know that there are many that have funny, amazing, horrific stories to tell, so tell me what yours are -- im dying to read the stories that my fellow crackberrions have to offer

Worst situation I ever encountered was when a rude no good @$%%##&#**((#*!!!! was screaming into his phone during the main speach at my daughter's graduation ceremony at college. I had to threaten him before he would hang up, Thankfully he was soon escorted out.
Of course we have all experience the "oh so important" contractor on his phone at a eatery screaming about the current project issues. Thankfully more and more establishments are asking these idiots to take the phone call outside.

lmao This happens to me all the time, especially on the bus. Folk just don't know how to turn the volume down a knotch. What gets me more is ***** NEDs [Non Educated Delinquents] on the bus playing music though their phone speaker so their equally stupid friends can hear it as well as the whole bus!!!

Yeah I do hate it when people are so into there conversation while driving, they are oblivious to everything around them. I mainly hate that because its dangerous. When people are talking real loud on their phones when its supposed to be quiet (like a graduation speech lol), that is very annoying. But as far as in a public place, yeah its annoying but get over it. It's just as annoying if two people are talking to each loud in a public place. Sometimes I would like to pull my ears off in public, but I'm sure I've done some pretty annoying things driving or talking too.

I can't stand it when people have public conversations on their phones, like at stores, etc. I use to work at Wawa(a convenience store), and I had customers all the time who would do it. I would be so aggravated by the end of the day, just because of that! People need to learn the proper cellphone etiquette.

My God where do I start lol... I use to work in retail for low many a year before dealing with annoying cell phones in the classroom. Do you know how hard it is to make a transaction while someone is on there cell phone laughing about how pissed up they got the pervious night?
My resolution: I started screaming at people on their cell phones when the came up to the register, so that the person on the other end of their conversation would stop and ask them where they were.
ROFLMAO... if you don' t have the time or decency to get off the phone while interacting with a real life person, don't make the transaction at all!

    True story.....

A few years ago at the Rennaissance Festival in Colorado there was an actor who went by the stage-name Zilch the Tory Steller. His act consisted of telling fairy tales completely in spoonerisms - where the first letter of each word gets switched with the first letter of another word in the sentece. He was really quite fun to watch and I'd always assumed that his act was carefully scripted and practiced because he could spit out those spoonerisms with ease. And then......

A couple of summers ago I was at the fair, watching his act. He'd just gotten past explaining what a spoonerism is and had launched into the main part of his act when some one's cell phone went off. The **** was sitting right in the middle of the audience and not only did he answer it, he proceeded to have a conversation. Zilch stopped in mid-sentence and stared at the man in open disgust. When it became obvious that Mr. Oblivious was going to continue his conversation right where he was, Zilch walked off the stage and down into the audience. He then TOOK THE PHONE OUT OF THE GUY'S HAND and proceeded to have the following conversation with whoever was on the other end:

    "Hello?" *pause*

"This is Zilch the Tory Steller" *pause*

"He's at the Fennaisance Restival, platching a way. He tan't calk night row, but si'm ure ce'll hall lack bater."

And then....Zilch turned the phone off, gave it back to the guy and walked back to the stage to continue his show.

Needless to say, the audience went wild

When I took a vacation in Hong Kong a couple years ago, my little brothers and I saw this person practically screaming into a phone. We turned around and started making fun of her -- we still do imitations of that person to this day.

This doesn't happen with only people with BlackBerries -- lay the blame where it belongs.

I had almost exactly the same experience at my bank a while back. When "pipes" walked out, still yapping of course, everyone in the line started to clap.

There's a shop near my house with a large sign on the door:

"Unless your name is Clark Kent, do NOT use this store as a telephone booth."

At the coffee shop a few doors down they have a relatively discreet but clearly visible sign at the order counter:

"Anyone using a cell phone while placing an order will be ignored."

And they do. Someone will be yapping on their phone, blurt out their order, then get right back to the phone call. The counter person simply shouts "next customer in line please!"

This often leads to some friction between the counter person, the offender, and the person behind them who is suddenly placing their order instead. It's amazing how some people can't find a moment to stop yapping when they place their order but suddenly find all the time in the world to pick a fight!

For every jackass who gets pissed off there are dozens of customers like me who enjoy the whole show, and even play along sometimes. The other day a girl was behind an offender, the counter person asked for her order instead, which caused said offender to stop talking. She LOUDLY says, inches away from offender's earbud, "A double mocha and a blueberry muffin, please!"

Then, looking at the stunned offender, she smiles and says "I hope Nancy's boyfriend will stop being such a prik," referring to the conversation we were all enduring for the previous 4 minutes.

Everybody in line just started laughing at the guy. His face turned bright red, then he dropped the call and sheepishly asked for a coffee to go.

One of my favorite coffee stops has a jar where you have to put a dollar if your cell phone even rings while you are inside the door. If you choose to answer and leave the building the fine goes to $1.50, any conversation over I'm in *****, let me get outside then the fine is $5.00. The woman who owns the coffee spot then takes all the fines and donates winter coats to a local women's shelter. She raises quite a bit of money ts way because so many forget to put the phone on vibe or shut it off. Locals have been known to "bully" the fine up if someone is so ignorant and continues the conversation after the container is stuck in their face (while talking on the phone) one guy pulled a $20 bill out and said goodbye to his friend after that treatment. Best time is when we can get one of the politicians!

Awesome! Wish more businesses had the huevos to do things like that.

In Israel, many cafes and restaurants use cell phone jammers. Illegal here, but I like the idea.

All these stories about people going into stores, banks, shows and having a conversation reminds me how I avoid being such a person. Whenever I get a call and during that call I have to walk into some place like a bank, deli or whatever, I just hang up in mid sentence....f-em. That's the great thing about cell phones..so unreliable. If the call is important, I delay my entry into the store, otherwise, you're getting hung up on. It takes longer to interrupt some jabberjaws to tell you you have to go,than it does to just hit the end button.
I also do the same thing when speaking to someone casually, and I get a business call on call waiting. Some of my friends just don't STFU and when I try to interrupt them and say "Oh, can I call you back? I have an important call?" they just keep talking, then when they finally shut the frig up, they realize I have just interjected with a message of some sort and ask "What? what did you say.? this is followed by when they will call me back, or when they will see me later...hey man, I just got done telling you I've got an important call, the fact that you are too self indulged to hear me means nothing. The only thing that had better come out of that mouth of yours is "GO GO TALK TO YOU LATER".
*People who put me on hold, (who don't make me money) often will come back to a dead line.

I have been a server for a little over a year and we have this guy who owns a contruction company come in every single day and basically stays all day at the bar drinking. If he's not on 2-way (nextel), where he always uses the speaker, then he leaves his phone there when he either goes to smoke a cig or goes to the bathroom and it rings non-stop. Since he's drunk, he does these things quite often. We have customers that get in fights with him all the time over it. We think its funny and love him. And he spends so much money and tips all the girls for doing nothing just being tthere no one tells him to stop. After a year, you learn to tone it out for an easy extra $40 a day.
