different sim cards

I've had my Blackberry (pearl - 8120) for about 6 months noww..I travel quite a lot, and I frequently use different sim cards when I'm away because I'm usually away for 2 months at a time..

Has anyone tried using different sim cards with their Blackberry?..I mentioned this to a friend of mine - and he said that when he tried to do it he lost all his contacts (which were saved on his phone - not sim) and he also lost all his Blackberry Messenger contacts..so he's got me worried!

If anyone has tried this..please let me know :) thanks!

I dont know how he could have lost his bb messenger contacts they arent physically installed on the sim card.... contacts might not have been on his phone but on the sim instead. I have never had this problem .But create a backup on DM just to be sure.
