We finally made the decision to switch from Alltel to At&T and the plan is to go to the corp AT&T store this afternoon.

My sister/friend and I are going to get the Curve.
My husband is not good at learning new things and would like to stay with what he knows. Right now he has an 8703e, AT&T only has the 8700g. How big is the difference between these two models?

After we get the new phones, do we have to uninstall the Destktop Manager we have and install a new one?

Also, we will we lose our ringtones and other things we have downloaded?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Both 8700g and 8703e are sam devices. Looks same and have simular software. Only differece is that 8700 is for GSM and 8703 for CDMa networks. So he wouldn't see any big difference. Maybe just some details.

You don't need to uninstall Menager unless you have some old version. Also use it to move data from old to new Berry.

For ringtones go ringtones thread and look for links...
