Is it possible to delete a bunch of texts at once, or do I have to go text by text? Thanks!

You can use the alt key to highlight multiple texts, emails, etc. Another option is to use the search feature if you want to delete messages from a particular person, number, etc.

Scroll up to the date, click the menu button, then say delete prior make sure to go to the Sent folder and do the same.
