So my daughter has shattered her iPhone and I am sending it away for repair, but in the mean time she needs to use my Z10 (she is NOT Happy) Since I don't use all the "cool" apps, does anyone know if snapchat, instagram etc work on BB10?

For the best instagram experience, install Igrann from the BlackBerry World, it's instagran but with a better user interface, also download snap2chat from the BlackBerry World which is native snap2chat client!

My son has them loaded on his z30. He has zero complaints. The advantages of BB10 outweigh the disadvantages. The Hub alone is a teenagers dream. The ability to get and respond to all messages from all social media feeds without opening and closing apps. Face it. Thats what teenagers do.

My daughter's iphone is also shattered.....nothing new....and she can just keep using it as is. It would be only one small drop away to being back in the same boat. It did still work though but now she can't make calls anymore so it seems to be failing slowly but surely. She was hoping to get the iphone 6.

My 15 year old niece has the same problem with her iPhone 5. She dropped it down a set of stairs and broke it.

You should have seen the look of horror on her face when I gave her a Z30 that I had bought online. Just because it had the BlackBerry name on it.

Anyway I installed Snap on her Z30 and downloaded Instagram, SnapChat and CandyCrush and she seems to be content.

I told her to use the Z30 for a month and if she is still not happy, I'll get her an iPhone.

Wow! Too many pampered kids here after dropping Iphones etc. How about letting 'em rough it out for a while without their phone until it is repaired, or if it is none repairable get them to earn the money for a replacement phone! Seems like all they got to do now is cry their little eyes out, look sad and someone comes to the rescue, and then have the tenacity to complain about the phone proffered!

I mean almost half of the people I know with an iPhone seem to have broken screens...

I agree. In my area most people use iPhone or Samsung and the number of cracked and shattered screens is astounding.
